Professional Profile:

Dr. Seide has more then ten years professional experience in patent and trademark matters. He joined the firm in 1996 as an associate/trainee and became partner of RUSCHKE MADGWICK SEIDE & KOLLEGEN in 2006.

He has been involved in prosecution and litigation of German and European patents, of German, Community and international trademarks and of German and Community designs including infringement, patentability/invalidity and clearing opinions. His technical expertise covers glass and plastic container production, paper handling machinery, agricultural technology such as milking machines etc., plate heat exchangers, separators, household appliances, optics (in particular objectives) as well as software patents.

Dr. Seide received a Master’s Degree in Physics from the Eidgenössisch Technische Hochschule in Zurich, Switzerland in 1987, a Ph.D. in Physics from the Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität in Munich, in 1993, and a LL.M. in European Intellectual Property Law from the German Fern-Universität Hagen, in 2006.

He is admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trademark Office, and the Office of Trademarks and Designs of the European Community in Alicante, Spain, and is a member of INTA.

Dr. Seide speaks German, English, and some Spanish and Swedish.
